The NFL Draft is on Thursday, and I was thinking that it might be fun to do a mock draft. I will only do my Top 10, because that’s about as far as my NFL knowledge extends. Anyway, this years draft is packed with great players.

1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garret, DE, Texas A&M

Myles Garret has been the first draft pick in almost every mock draft. Personally, I think that many players are better, but they don’t fit the Browns very well. And there’s a reason that Garret should go number one. Even if this year was his worst year in his three-year career, he still had 8.5 sacks and 33 tackles in only 10 games. These are pretty good stats and will make you a Top 10 draft pick almost every time.

2. San Francisco 49ers: Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford

This pick is very iffy. Even though the Cardinals have DeForest Buckner, they really need a defensive end. They probably need a safety more, and they might even need a quarterback if they don’t re-sign Colin Kaepernick. But I think that their number one worry is at defensive end. This pick would make the draft the first in a while to have the first two picks being defensive ends.

3. Chicago Bears: DeShaun Watson, QB, Clemson

Just how good is DeShaun Watson? Well, he has never not won a double digit amount of games in a season, and led Clemson to the NCAA Championship in 2015 and 2016. Last year, they lost by a little to Alabama, but this year he brought them back to the championship game and earned his revenge on Alabama with a last second touchdown pass. He also passed for 4,593 yards and 41 touchdowns this year. If those were NFL stats, they would be toward the top of the league. Also, his completion percentage was 67%, making his passer rating 151.1. So, yeah, he’s good. Also, he will fit perfectly on a team like the Bears who need a good quarterback.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU

A running back is not exactly what the Jaguars need. Still, Fournette is too good to pass up. He rushed for 843 yards on only 129 gives in only seven games. That’s an average of 6.5 yards per carry. And he was hurt! If you want to see what he’s done when he’s not hurt, just look at 2015. He posted three 200-yard plus games in a row en route to rushing for 1,953 yards on only 300 attempts to go along with 22 rushing touchdowns. That, again is a average of 6.5 yards per run. Leonard Fournette will make a trio with Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon. But that is only if he slips this far.

5. Tennesee Titans: Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama

Allen is a great defensive end. The thing is, if Solomon Thomas is still available, the Titans need to pick him. They are in desperate need of a defensive end. And if somehow Myles Garret slid this far, get him! But Allen is a good pick. He had 8.5 sacks in the regular season and then he had 2.0 in the College Football Playoff. He would be good for the team, and give them a boost heading into next year.

6. New York Jets: Marshon Lattimore, CB, OSU

Marshon Lattimore probably will not slip this far. I think that he is not that great, but a lot of general managers like him. Even if he were to slip this far, if I’m Mike Maccagnan, the Jets GM, I probably don’t pick him. He isn’t really worth this pick if there are other good people open, so I don’t pick him. He only had four picks in 2016, and only played three games in 2015. He really isn’t that good.

7. Los Angeles Chargers: Malik Hooker, S, OSU

Malik Hooker is a boss. He snagged six picks in the regular season and one in the CPF against Clemson. And he’s a safety! He is a very good player who will fill a huge whole in Los Angeles’s secondary. If he is still available, he would be a definite choice by the Chargers just because of his overall great defense, and would probably be the best choice at the time.

8. Carolina Panthers: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

The Panthers need this. They have gone through so many running backs it has been hard to count, and now they are stuck with Jonathan Stewart and Fozzy Whitaker. Both are mediocre running backs, and if the Panthers want to become contenders again, they can’t build around their running game. Christian McCaffrey would be a great addition for them. He rushed for 2,019 yards in 2015, and then 1,603 in 2016. He would be a great fit with the team.

9. Cincinnati Bengals: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama

Reuben Foster is widely viewed as one of the best players in the NFL Draft. He had 94 tackles in 2016 to go along with four sacks in the regular season. Then, in the CPF, he had another 21 tackles and a sack. The Bengals are in need of a linebacker, and their only good linebacker is Vontaze Burfict. They could use him, and the fact that he is not going to the NFL Draft really doesn’t matter. Reuben Foster got into argument at the NFL Combine with a hospital worker and also failed a drug test. He was not invited to the NFL Draft for both of these reasons.

10. Buffalo Bills: Mitchell Trubisky, QB, UNC

Mitchell Trubisky is a good quarterback. The Bills need a quarterback. This is a great match for both people. Trubisky passed for 3,748 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2016. His completion percentage was 68.2 and his passer rating was 168.3, which is very good. He could team up with Sammy Watkins, who would be better than any player he had ever been with in the NCAA. He would fit great.

Many things could be different. I’m sure that the picks will be different, and there will probably be some trades. But this is what I think. The draft will be great this year and I can’t wait to see how it goes. Do you think that Myles Garett will be drafted first overall? Comment what you think.
