Yordano Ventura was killed Sunday in a car crash. Many thought he had the potential to be a great pitcher. Ventura was only 25 when he died. He has been in the league for 3 years but also played in the minor leagues for 5 years. He had spent his entire MLB career with the Kansas City Royals and has a career win-loss of 38-31. He had not yet established himself and has had no great stats in his career, but many people believed he was good enough to maybe one year make the all-star game. Then, of course, some of those people were people who confuse him with college hall-of-famer Robin Ventura(even though Robin Ventura played third base. Ventura is popular for his extremely fast fastball;his fastest has been 102.816-in the major leagues! It is the fastest pitch by a starting pitcher since at least 2008(!) He was obviously going to be a good player and it is sad that this player has died.
