The NCAA Tournament has lived up to its March Madness nickname this year. In the 2nd Round,  defending champion Villanova lost to a eight-seed in Wisconsin, two-seed Duke lost to a seven-seed in South Carolina, and two-seed Louisville lost to seven-seed Michigan. The Louisville team was highly over-seeded, and their lost to Big Ten champion Michigan made sense. But, even though Wisconsin was the runner-up in the Big Ten, their win over Villanova made no sense. As you can see in “NCAA Tournament Prediction”, I had Villanova winning it all. And if they didn’t make it to the championship game, I thought that the team would be Duke. But they lost to South Carolina. And there was yet another upset in the Xavier vs. Florida State game, in which Xavier won by 25 points. So yeah, the Sweet 16 looks a little odd if you look at the bracket:

They will play against Baylor in the Elite Eight after Baylor dominates South Carolina. In the West, Gonzaga plays against West Virginia. Another upset, this one huge, leaving only two one-seeds remaining. Xavier vs. Arizona will be the game of the day. This one will be fought to the last minute as a high-flying Xavier plays against a consistent Arizona. Arizona advances to the Elite Eight just barely, and Xavier’s Cinderella season ends. In the Midwest, Kansas kills Purdue, and Oregon escapes the game against Michigan. And, in the South, UNC beats Butler, and UCLA upsets Kentucky. The Sweet 16 looks hard to predict, with many Cinderella teams, and it will be great to watch.
