The Sacramento Kings have traded DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans. In my opinion, this trade is in huge favor of the New Orleans Pelicans. But first, lets break the trade down. New Orleans is giving the Kings 6th overall draft pick shooting guard Buddy Hield, who is averaging 8.6 PPG and 2.9 RPG, guard Langston Galloway, who is averaging 8.6 PPG and 2.2 RPG, and guard/forward Tyreke Evans, who is averaging 9.5 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 3.5 APG. The Kings also get both of the Pelicans draft picks this year. On the Pelicans side of the trade, though, they get forward/center DeMarcus Cousins, who is averaging 27.8 PPG, 10.6 RPG, and 4.8 APG. Cousins is a rare big man who can score and get bunches of rebounds. He will probably do great with arguably the best center in the league (if Cousins isn’t) in Anthony Davis. The Pelicans also get forwad Omir Casspi, who is averaging 5.9 PPG and 4.1 RPG. Anthony Davis is also happy about this trade. “This is a incredible weekend.” Davis said. “First All-Star MVP and now getting Boogie It doesn’t get better than this.” Davis scored 52 points and snagged 10 rebounds in only 32 minutes in the West’s 192-182 win over the East. He set a new record for points in a all-star game on his way to MVP.
So, it seems to me that the Pelicans got the better of this trade. What about you? Comment your thoughts.
