It took Tom Brady 17 seasons to make the cover of Madden. Brady just won his fifth championship, conducting the best comeback in Super Bowl history. This was finally enough to get him a Madden cover for the first time in his career. And, if there was any time for him to be on the cover of Madden, it was this year. As much as I don’t like Tom Brady, he does deserve to be on the cover this year. He had a bounce-back after a four-game suspension, led New England to a 14-2 season, and won the championship. In doing so, he had a 112.2 passer rating, second-best in his career, and also passed for 28 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions in 12 games. This gave him a touchdown to interception ratio of 14 to 1, best in his career. There is a reason why Madden 18 is going to be called the G.O.A.T. edition. But, the Madden cover curse might equal a bad season for him. The curse has made stars get injured like Donovan McNabb and last year, Rob Gronkowski. This is the second year in a row that a Patriots player has been cover model, and last year they won the championship. This year, though, it might be different.
