The NBA Finals begin on Thursday, and it’s the third time in a row that the Cavaliers and the Warriors have faced off. I have some thoughts about the Finals. Here is my predictions of every game.
Game 1: Cavaliers 106, Warriors 104
The Cavaliers take Game 1 in Oakland, starting out strong and never looking back. I predict for them to be up 10 after one quarter, but the lead will shrink to single digits into halftime. After being a one point game after three, the Cavaliers hold on to win. They are backed by stellar games by Kyrie Irving and LeBron James.
Game 2: Warriors 111, Cavaliers 99
This prediction might be wrong. It is a long shot predicting a blowout. It always is, except when the Colts are playing the Patriots. Still, I have a feeling that it will turn out like this. The Warriors are fueled by their close loss, and they dominate. I predict a great game for Kevin Durant, 35+ points, and also a good game for Steph Curry. The main reason for this loss is Lebron’s play. I predict less than 20 points in this game.
Game 3: Cavaliers 101, Warriors 92
As the Cavaliers go home to Cleveland, they get an easy win. This game is dominated by Cleveland at the beginning, and they open up a double digit lead. Still, the Warriors get back to within five before the Cavaliers pull away for the win. A good game by James, and also a double-double by Kevin Love helps them win this game. I feel like Draymond Green will get into some kind of fight in the first three games of the series, and this might be the game where he either fouls out or is ejected.
Game 4: Cavaliers 131, Warriors 128
This game is another close one, but the Cavaliers win again at home. In this shootout, Durant and James both score 40+ points. Still, some late treys by Kyle Korver give them the game. Another notable player is Korver, who hits threes when it matters and scores a career high. Now the Warriors must do what the Cavaliers did last year-come back from 3-1 down.
Game 5: Warriors 118, Cavaliers 112
The Warriors stay alive with this win. They hang on in the fourth quarter for a small win. It could be closer, but I’ll leave the win a six points. Durant and Curry score 30+points each, and Green gets a ton of rebounds. This game is all Warriors. It gives them some hope as they travel to Cleveland in another win-or-go-home game.
Game 6: Cavaliers 137, Warriors 135
In another huge shootout, the Cavaliers extinguish the Warriors hope of a championship on a comeback. Everything is looking good for the Warriors until the fourth quarter. The Warriors head in too confident, and their lead quickly evaporates. On a couple of shot in the last minute, the Cleveland Cavaliers win the NBA Finals in six games. NBA Finals MVP is Irving, who did well in every game. The Cavaliers will hope for a three-peat next year.
